New Monster Blog – March 29th, 2010
Filed in: Abyss News. Author: Alex. Comment: Add a comment (0)

Hey everyone and welcome to this week’s Monster Blog. There is so much going on I don’t know where to begin, so lets get started, shall we??? The biggest news of the week and probably of the year for me, is that Hulk Hogan made me the captain of TEAM HOGAN at Lockdown this year in St. Louis. This is huge news!!!! Wow, I can’t begin to tell you how honored and thrilled I am that Hulk chose me to lead his team against TEAM FLAIR. Team Flair has announced, as you saw last Monday, that Sting will be the captain of TEAM FLAIR. Isn’t it crazy how we’ve come full circle??? There was a time when Sting mentored me and took me under his wing. Now, he stands on the other side, the wrong side! At Lockdown, TEAM HOGAN lead by the Monster Abyss is going to handle business for Hulk and ensure the destruction of TEAM FLAIR. I have been getting swarmed with people and fans asking and wanting to know who my three other team members are going to be??? I have been speaking with Hulk behind closed doors and he and I are in the process of choosing three other warriors who share Hulk and I’s aspirations of detroying TEAM FLAIR. I have huge news for everyone reading this blog. Hulk and I have talked and we have chosen the second member of TEAM HOGAN to team alongside me at Lockdown!!! I have spoken to Hulk and he has given me his blessing, so this Monday on Impact I will reveal the second member of TEAM HOGAN!!!! As long as he accepts, which I think he will, our second team member will be introduced this Monday on Impact, so tune in to find out everyone!!!

Spike TV Paying Close Attention To 4/5 iMPACT!
Filed in: TNA News. Author: Alex. Comment: Add a comment (0)

As we’ve repoted, the April 5th edition of TNA Impact will be broadcast from 8-10pm as a result of the NCAA Championship basketball game.

According to a source within TNA, SpikeTV officials will be paying very close attention to how Impact performs in the ratings on the 5th. I was told that the SpikeTV higher-ups have not been happy about the low ratings Impact has been drawing since its move to Monday nights at 9pm, and that if the show performs better at 8pm, then the network might seriously consider a permanent move to that time slot.

Well, as stated earlier, Abyss did not have a match this week. But, he did have a promo revealing the 2nd member of Team Hogan for the match at Lockdown.

And the 2nd member is none other than TNA founder Jeff Jarret. The next member will probably be revealed next week.

Backstage Information On iMPACT!'s New Timeslot
Filed in: TNA News. Author: Alex. Comment: Add a comment (0)

As a bit of an update on the TNA Impact going from 8-10PM on April 5th: apparently it was a call made by Spike TV and not TNA Wrestling. As of now, the 8-10PM timeslot is considered a one-time experiment to see how the show performs in that slot.

The show will face RAW head-to-head as well as the NCAA tourney finals, which is generally considered rough competition for wrestling every year.

It’s worth noting that the most successful hour as far as ratings are concerned, for TNA and Impact, is the 8-9PM hour of their three hour, 8-11PM debut on Monday nights back on January 4th.

TNA has exactly one week to promote the new start time, which may not be enough considering what replay ratings have been drawing for Impact, despite the heavy promotion for the Monday switch a while back.

Abyss Not Scheduled For iMPACT!, New iMPACT! Timeslot?
Filed in: Spoilers, TNA News. Author: Alex. Comment: Add a comment (0)

- From what I’ve read of the spoilers for next weeks TNA iMPACT!, I couldn’t find anything involving Abyss. Not a match, not a promo, nothing. Hopefully he has something next week.

- The official website for Spike TV lists the April 5th edition of TNA Impact as airing on Monday from 8-10PM, instead of the 9-11PM timeslot they’ve been using on Monday’s. This will give them an hour unopposed to RAW, which to date has been their best hour on Monday back on January 4th when they went from 8-11PM.

In Ring Segment
Hogan and Abyss are in the ring together and Hogan says Abyss and his TNA-maniacs have this place on fire. He says it got real personal with Ric Flair and he wants the fans to listen real close. He says Bischoff told him that Flair knew which buttons to push, and he was right. He says Flair made it personal, and he says Bischoff learned tonight that personal things don’t work out. He says business starts at Lockdown. He says Abyss is the captain of Team Hogan and they’ll go head-to-head against Team Flair. Abyss says he hopes AJ and Flair didn’t show up tonight because he’ll make them crash through whatever he wants. He says when he chokeslammed AJ last night, he realized he was the pissed off monster Abyss and he earned respect. He is going to take care of business for Hogan at Lockdown. He says AJ and Flair are going to need a mortician when he’s done with them.

Flair, Styles and Chelsea are out on the ramp. Flair says Abyss couldn’t kill them because they are wrestling gods. AJ says he had the match won until Abyss and Hogan screwed it up. Flair says to insure victory for Team Flair, the team captain is Sting! The Impact Zone is completely dark and Sting’s music is playing, maybe teasing his arrival. The lights finally come on and Sting is on one turnbuckle as AJ beats on Abyss, and breaks his crutch on Abyss. Hogan can’t help as he was handcuffed to ropes when the lights were off. AJ taunts Hogan a little bit until The Pope D’Angelo Dinero hits the ring. Pope is laying into AJ with elbows, and lets Hogan and Abyss get some boots in before he hits the Dinero Express in the corner. Pope gets the keys and frees Hogan. Flair is trying to get the heck out of there but is stuck in his wheelchair. Hogan catches up with and sends him down the ramp to be clotheslined to the ground by Abyss. Abyss, Pope and Hogan are celebrating on the ramp to end the segment.

We get a video package that showcases the events leading up to this match, also spending quite a bit of time focusing on both Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. Christy Hemme is backstage with the Champion. AJ says his strategy will be the same tonight, as it was before Flair was in the wheelchair, win at all costs, and that is exactly what Styles is there to do. Styles says he’ll also teach Abyss a lesson, and that’s not to try and break 61 year old men’s backs. AJ says he will beat Abyss, period. And at the end of the night, he’ll be the one with the World Title, styling and profiling.

JB is backstage with Abyss. Abyss says of course AJ is confident, he’s the World Champion, and he has what’s left of Ric Flair on his side. He may have Flair, but Abyss has the power of Hogan and all the Hulkamaniacs running through his body. Abyss says Ric Flair practically begged him to put him in the wheelchair. So after all this build, they’re here, facing off for the World title, and when Abyss is done, there won’t be anything left of AJ. Abyss is out to the ring first, to lots of love from the Impact Zone.

Styles is out second, still to a fairly nice reaction. Wolfe’s valet wheels Flair out about 3/4 of the way down the entrance ramp. JB is out to do formal ring introductions for both men, and then this one will be ready to go.

New Monsters Blog – March 19

It’s that time of year again everybody. It’s time for Destination X.  This pay per view is always one of my personal favorites.  In years past, I have had memorable moments and matches at this pay per view event.  Rhino and Jeff Hardy stand out as my most memorable opponents at a Destination X. Rhino and I had a falls count anywhere match that went all over the Impact zone that resulted in me getting “gored” off the balcony and thru four stacked up tables. Remember that??? Or how about Jeff Hardy and I competing in the No DQ match at Destination X a few years ago. Jeff Hardy hit the sickest swan dive I’ve ever seen onto me that night…from about 25 feet up in the air!!!  These memories, although strong, will be nothing compared to the memories and memorable moments that AJ and I will engrain on wrestling fans this coming Sunday night at Destination X.
