Happy Anniversary TNA!!!!! I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since TNA’s inception. It’s been such an exciting and thrilling experience. It’s really hard to put into words sometimes. TNA has undergone a lot of change over the past couple of years and the growth of the company has been absolutely amazing to watch and be a big part of. There is nothing I am more proud of in the world than what we have accomplished in TNA over the past 8 years. Me being an original member of TNA makes Slamiversary VIII this Sunday mean even more to me. As a matter of fact, it means the WORLD to me. You see, as I’ve eluded to in past blogs, the “critics” all said back in 2002 when TNA was born, that TNA would not make it 6 months and we did. Then the “critics”, ironically the same “critics” who have never even competed in a wrestling ring of any kind, said that we wouldn’t make it 1 year and we did that too. And then the “critics”, most of whom hide behind the obscurity of the internet, said we would not make it 3 years and guess what??? WE DID. And now its 8 years later and look at the unbelievable growth that TNA has experienced. From the video game to the action figures and merchandise line all the way to the international touring and Spike TV, TNA and all it’s family members have worked so hard to make this company what it is today. We will celebrate all this hard work and perserverence this coming Sunday at Slamiversary. And now, with 2010 bringing some familiar faces to TNA like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, the possibilities are endless. With folks like Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam members of the TNA family now, I can’t even begin to imagine what TNA’s growth will be over the next 8 years. I can’t wait!! I’m really looking forward to it,

I know I know, you were all wondering where I have been with my weekly blog appropriately named the Monster Blog?? Well wonder no more as I am back and ready to blog away and share my thoughts and feelings with all of you about some of the current events and affairs not only in TNA, but in the world as we know it. I missed you guys a lot too and I am energized and ready to kick the Monster Blog into high gear as we approach Slamiversary!!! That’s right everybody….the 8th anniversary of TNA Wrestling is almost here. Wow..I can’t believe its been 8 years since the birth of TNA. I have been here with TNA for all of them and let me be the first to tell you that each one has been bigger, better, and more spectacular than the one before and this year is shaping up to fall right in line with the past 7 Slamiversary’s. For me, as well as some of the other TNA originals such as AJ Styles and James Storm just to name a couple, Slamiversary has a very special and signigicant meaning that runs far deaper than just our premier summertime pay per view. Slamiversary to me represents all of the dedication, perserverence, and determination that TNA has exhibited over the past 8 years to continue its growth and maturation into a strong and relevant wrestling company. One that I am more proud of than anything else in my life. You see, when we started, all the critics and so called pundents said that TNA couldnt and wouldnt work. They said it would never make it 6 months….then they said a year…..then it went to 2 years…..and then 3 years. And here we are 8 years later and TNA is stronger now more than ever. We proved to EVERYONE that we belonged by our hard work ethic, drive, and unwillingness to accept defeat. We have over come all the odds and continue to prove that hard work ethic and pride can make great things happen. I can hardly wait to see the growth of TNA over the next 8 years. I’ll have more about Slamiversary over the next couple weeks as we get closer to June 13 and the anniversary of my home…TNA Wrestling.

Backstage Segment

Desmond Wolfe and Chelsea are talking about Chelsea going with Abyss. She is upset about having to do it, but Wolfe reassures her and says Abyss will have to answer to him if he tries anything, and Wolfe says Chelsea will always be his.

Ring Promo

Abyss comes out and says Desmond Wolfe has something, or someone, he owes him, so let’s get this done now. Chelsea is reluctantly brought to the ring as Desmond Wolfe is furious and yelling at security. Abyss says it’s quite ironic because at Sacrifice he made Wolfe his bitch, but tonight he’s taking Wolfe’s away from him. Wolfe says what we have is a sense of false security. Wolfe says if he thinks Abyss is taking her he’s sorely mistaken and is taking her over his dead body. He takes out security and hits Abyss with a low blow. He takes a bottle out of Chelsea’s bag and breaks it on the ringpost. He uses the jagged bottle to cut Abyss and his arm is bleeding alot. Chelsea is upset and thinks it’s too much. Abyss uses the opportunity to hit Desmond with the Black Hole Slam and he puts Chelsea on his shoulder and leaves with her.

- F4WOnline.com is reporting that Abyss needed 17 stitches in his arm as a result of the attack by Desmond Wolfe that aired on this past Thursday night’s edition of TNA Impact.

New Abyss Interview
Filed in: Abyss News. Author: Alex. Comment: Add a comment (0)

Abyss recently done an interview with Brian Fritz of Fanhouse.Com. The following is a little excerpt from the interview:

Do you like the evolution of the Abyss character and where it has gone? There have been a lot of twists and turn with it there for a while.
I’m really proud of the character. I think it has matured a lot over the years. In this business, to keep any kind of a character at all, at any level, relevant for an extended period of time — I’ve been with TNA for going on eight years and I’ve been there since basically close to the beginning — so you gotta switch it up. You gotta try different stuff or you kind of get stale by doing just the same old thing. I’m proud of what we did with the character. I really like the original stuff. I really like the stuff coming back with the whites (clothing) and the insane asylum stuff. I really liked all that stuff and then the transformation now into the stuff with Hulk (Hogan). That’s been obviously a dream come true. I’ve really enjoyed the different sides of it. I think that keeps the character interesting, when you can see him when he’s happy, when he’s angry, when he’s sad, when he’s mad. You see different sides of the character and that keeps the character kind of fresh.

I am writing this blog to you all just shortly after my match with Ric Flair occurred tonight. WOW!!!!! That’s the first word that comes to mind. I defeated the Nature Boy Ric Flair. I still can not believe it. I still have pinched myself once or twice to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Don’t get me wrong, its not that I ever doubted I could physically beat Ric Flair, but I never thought I’d have the opportunity to compete against “the dirtiest” player in the history of the game. And when I realized that I indeed was going to have the opportunity to wrestle Ric Flair, how in the world, I thought to myself, can I ever come close to matching this guys experience and ring savy?? After all, this is Ric Flair we are talking about. He is without a doubt, a true legend who has paved the way for this business and all who are in it.

Ya know, this time of year is one of my favorites for many reasons. The sun is out, things are warming up quite nicely from the cold winter I experienced, the trees are all covered in leaves, all the birds that ran south for the winter are returning, AND its LOCKDOWN time here in TNA. This is one of my favorite pay per view events of the year for several reasons. First and foremost, the level of violence and brutality that is exhibited at LOCKDOWN is unequaled in all of pro wrestling. I myself have sustained some of my most impactful injuries and bad cuts at this pay per view than any other TNA has during the year and guess what??……I love it like that. Lockdown is the premier hardcore event offered by TNA and the entire wrestling business. I have some unreal and incredible memories of LOCKDOWN. Some involve me, some don’t.

My most lasting memory was main eventing the first LOCKDOWN ever back in 2005 against AJ Styles. It was the first time either of us had main evented a pay per view event since TNA began running the pay per views on Sundays. The pressure was immence to say the least, but AJ and I, like I believe we have always done, delivered on an excellent match that was brutal and vicious on both if us. AJ sustained a massive cut on his head when I swung the cage door into his face. Remember that??? Or how about when AJ gave me his patented Styles Clash into the tacs??? The match was excellent and took a toll on both of us. I sustained a seperated shoulder during the event. I could barely climb the cage at the end before AJ capitalized and sunset flipped powerbombed me off the top of the cage. It was lights out for me. Seriously, I only remember seeing a flash of white as I landed. It was like turning off an old TV, everything went blank. When I came to, the referee had just counted the three count.

Hey everyone and welcome to this week’s Monster Blog. There is so much going on I don’t know where to begin, so lets get started, shall we??? The biggest news of the week and probably of the year for me, is that Hulk Hogan made me the captain of TEAM HOGAN at Lockdown this year in St. Louis. This is huge news!!!! Wow, I can’t begin to tell you how honored and thrilled I am that Hulk chose me to lead his team against TEAM FLAIR. Team Flair has announced, as you saw last Monday, that Sting will be the captain of TEAM FLAIR. Isn’t it crazy how we’ve come full circle??? There was a time when Sting mentored me and took me under his wing. Now, he stands on the other side, the wrong side! At Lockdown, TEAM HOGAN lead by the Monster Abyss is going to handle business for Hulk and ensure the destruction of TEAM FLAIR. I have been getting swarmed with people and fans asking and wanting to know who my three other team members are going to be??? I have been speaking with Hulk behind closed doors and he and I are in the process of choosing three other warriors who share Hulk and I’s aspirations of detroying TEAM FLAIR. I have huge news for everyone reading this blog. Hulk and I have talked and we have chosen the second member of TEAM HOGAN to team alongside me at Lockdown!!! I have spoken to Hulk and he has given me his blessing, so this Monday on Impact I will reveal the second member of TEAM HOGAN!!!! As long as he accepts, which I think he will, our second team member will be introduced this Monday on Impact, so tune in to find out everyone!!!
